Note On Inauguration Of Crescent School Of Law

Crescent School Of Law Declared Open

In the presence of students, parents, Advocates and a galaxy of academia the former Supreme Court Judge, Justice F.M. Ibrahim Kalifulla has declared the Crescent School of Law of B.S.Abdur Rahman Crescent University opened at Convention Center of the University on Wednesday (20th September,2017).  While delivering his inaugural address he stressed the need to find ways and means to translate the Constitutional values into reality through Law. Find ways to use the law to help the poor and vulnerable. He showered his blessing on the students of law who opted the course and joined the Crescent.

           Vice Chancellor Prof.(Dr.) Sahol Hamid Bin Abu Bakar while presiding over the meeting stressed the importance of quality legal education  to train and prepare the future Lawyers to meet the ever changing world that is Global. He underlined that, most of the national leaders including Mahatma Gandhi were Lawyers.

          Chairman, Board of Management, B.S.Abdur Rahman Crescent University Mr. Abdul Quadir A. Rahman Buharai said that establishment of a school of law in the campus is a long-cherished wish of the founder B.S.Abdur Rahman, which came into a reality now.

          Justice K.N.Basha and Justice G.M.Akbar Ali, Retired Judges of Madras High Court also spoke on this occasion. In their address they urged the students to take law education seriously to excel in the profession that is demanding more knowledge, skills and labour.

          Solicitors of Herbert Smith Free hills, Law-Firm, UK and UAE  Mr. Staurt Paterson and Zubir Mir in their address enlightened the students on various career opportunities available Globally. Mr Aditya Bhatt of A & Z Partners Bangalore also stressed the growing significance of law.

          Board of Management Members Mr. Arif Mohammad and Mr. Syed Mohammed Buhari also spoke. Mr. Arif has said that if morals are there the law is not required and if law is mandated then Almighty where as Law is man-made.

          Dean, School of Law Dr P.V.Nagendra Sarma has  proposed vote of thanks. The program was started by Qiraath by Dr.Syed Masood Jamali, Dean School of Islamic Studies. University Registrar      Dr.V.Murugesan welcomed the dignitaries on to the dais.
