Physical Infrastructure

         The university boasts of excellent infrastructure facilities to successfully carryout the programmes offered. The university spans 50.50 acres of sprawling, serene and evergreen  campus. The vast campus has well planned network comprising blocks of various  departments, reading halls, classrooms, laboratories, state of the art convention center, computerized library and several play grounds.

         Equipment worth more than 439.7 million rupees are available in various laboratories to cater the academic needs of the students. Highly qualified and experienced faculty along with modern teaching  techniques make the teaching-learning process effective for the students. Also, the campus houses residential buildings for faculty members and  other staff, apart form separate hostels for men and women students.

Computing Facilities
 
                 This University has been following the policy of establishing distributed computing facility for each department with adequate number of servers and client computers and specialized software required for the department and also general software. All the departments and laboratories including hostels are connected by a one giga byte campus-wide fibre optic network. The Institution has a total number of 24 servers, 60 workstations and 1500 desktop clients.
 
            
                     For the First Year students, a common computing facility for those who want to browse the Internet beyond department working hours, a separate facility is provided with 70 systems, in addition to the campus wide WIFI connectivity. The Internet Bandwidth in the campus is  100 Mbps on 1 Gb National Knowledge Network (NKN) with WiFi over 3500 mts Optic Fibre Cable (OFC).
                   A Central Data Centre with eight numbers of state-of-art high end two processor, Quad Core Blade and Rack Zeon servers and SAN storage of 10 TB with virtualization and management software at a cost of Rs 100 lakhs, connecting the entire campus, is established.
The Departmental Computing facilities are also provided along with Departmental facilities.

Library

            The College Central Library is a repository of books on various disciplines of Engineering and Management, including books on Science and Humanities and other inter-disciplinary subjects. It has over 56,252 volumes and 25,357 titles with 2536 Journals and Magazines including IEEE, ACM, ASME, ASCE & Springer Journals worth Rs 1.95 crores and Educational CD's.
 
 
The Central Library has an air-conditioned audio-visual lab and reading room. The College Central Library is an Institutional Member of the British Council Library, the American Centre, Anna University - Chennai, the SERC Library, INDEST Consortium MALIBNET and IIT-Madras. The Central Library gives one additional library card to University toppers one per class, as a token of appreciation. Once in three months, the library publishes a bulletin on all activities of the University.

Hostel Facilities
The University has excellent hostel facilities and infrastructure within the campus that make students feel comfortable and at home. There are men’s hostels which can accommodate upto 1500 students. It has a secure women’s hostel which can accommodate upto 350 students. Four wellconstructed, state of the art buildings, complete with lifts, form the new hostel block. The men and women hostels have their own mess, where the students are offered a choice of both vegetarian and non vegetarian food.
This is an extended home, conducive for students to do serious study and to grow spiritually, intellectually, physically and psychologically.
A mosque stands testimony to the fact that peace of mind is enshrined in the remembrance of God. The hostels are also equipped with separate gymnasia for men and women students. Hostels maintaining international standards of cuisine and comfort, with a caring and sharing environment, have been proposed, with separate buildings for men and women students. A seperate internet facility is available within the hostel premises

Canteen

            The University canteen consists of four long and wide halls and is very well furnished. Apart from being a place that offers delicious, healthy and nutritious meals for students and staff, it has always been a place for relaxation and friendly banter. In this beloved hangout for college-goers, one can experience every shade and colour of life. Apart from the usual menu, the canteen also boasts of 2 kiosks for fresh juices and milk-shakes. 

 
Mobile canteen is also functioning in the campus.
One more canteen to cater the needs of the First Year Students exclusively is located near the First Year Block.
Health Centre

            A healthy body and a sound mind are the mainstays of academic and personal excellence. For the benefit of students, the University has a health centre that is operational 24 x 7 with additional 8 bed in-patient facility and an ambulance. Two resident doctors, one male and one female, are ably supported by qualified paramedical staff to ensure smooth operations. A specialist doctor makes weekly visits to the hostel. The University also has a tie-up with AG Hospital, Tambaram, for emergencies. 

Convention Centre

B.S. Abdur Rahman University boasts of a very large Convention Centre which houses an auditorium of 1400 seating capacity and three sophisticated seminar halls of seating capacity 300, 200 and 100.
 
         Set in bewitching landscape, this wonderful building has lofty pillars whose beauty is enhanced in turn by a series of small arches. As one enters the Convention Centre, a breathtaking expansiveness fascinates the visitor. The auditorium accommodates 1400 persons in 2 galleries on the ground and mezzanine levels. Equipped with state-of-the-art sound and light systems, the centre has been designed for the best acoustics and space utilization.
 
 
The fully air-conditioned Convention Centre has the following facilities: Language Laboratory, Alumni Centre, Cultural ISTD Programme, VIP Rest Room, Greenroom, Placement Cell Office, Entrepreneurship Development Cell, and 3 Seminar Halls.

Staff Quarters

There are 60 residential flats for executive teaching and non-teaching staff. Their presence on campus makes them accessible to the students in need of counsel and helps ensure prompt response in case of any eventuality. Their accessibility reassures and inspires the student community.
