The Department of Computer Science and Engineering was established in the year 1990. Over the past few years, the department has acquired national and international importance. This has been achieved by the collective and responsive effort of the faculty, the supporting staff and the students. The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is one of the biggest departments in the college. The department has excellent infrastructure facilities to provide quality education and training in the areas of Computer Science and Engineering. The department is also a research centre accredited by Anna University and all the programmes are accredidated by AICTE.

Objectives

• To impart education and training at UG and PG level and inculcate professionalism to suit the needs of the industry.
• To ensure better quality of education by continuous monitoring and review of performance and counseling students.
• To enhance problem – solving skills of students through industry oriented projects applying state of the art techniques.
• To supplement the academic input of students by way of seminars, conferences, guest lectures, industrial visits and implant trainings.
• To strive constantly to improve the quality of the faculty members through up-gradation of qualification, participation in conduction of short term training program (STTP), seminars and workshops and publications of papers, books etc.
• To provide industrial exposure to the faculty members by undertaking sponsored research, consultancy work and organizing industry oriented training programmes at various levels.

• Students who graduated from our Department are placed into various esteemed IT industries like TCS, CTS, Infosys, Wipro, HP and other core IT related companies as developers, system architect and programmers
• As solution developers / specialists in IT / IT-enabled services and government sectors
